(Interview in Englisch)

How did you get to become an expert in your key topics?

I was editor-in-chief of leading IT magazines in the German market for more
than 30 years, such as Datacom, Network Computing, and Funkschau. In
addition, I was president of Network Group Germany for many years and a
board member of the Competence Center for Security in Bavaria. In short, I
have been technically and commercially active in the IT market for more than
30 years and have always had my finger on the pulse.

What sub-topics are you most passionate about?

Currently, of course, cybersecurity, because it has a massive impact on all
other topics, especially digital transformation. The same applies to the
numerous new, disruptive technologies and how they strengthen or change
existing ecosystems, platforms, networks, and IT in general. In addition to
that the political changes and ambitions such as Gaia-X.

Who influences you within these topics?

Analysts and market researchers, as well as the large community of fellow
influencers.

What challenges are brands facing in this space?

The challenges are manifold: It is more and more about the sustainability of
development, security by design, compliance with legal regulations and, last
but not least, omnichannel communication. The biggest challenge, however, is
the time factor – those who cannot keep up will be left behind.

What do you think the future holds in this space?

The market remains characterized by the evolution of technologies in all
areas. In some segments, however, this evolution has become very rapid.
Nevertheless, all mainstream technologies must fit into the rapidly emerging
platform ecosystems and be available as „Everything as a Service
Everywhere“. AI Engineering, Hyper Automation, Internet of Behaviour or
Total Experience are topics that companies have to face.

What brands are leading the way in this space?

In the mainstream cloud environment, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are
leading the way. Datacenter operators such as Equinix, Lumen, NTT, and the
countless managed service providers create the basis and build on
established technology providers. In the end, however, it will always be
startups that lead to ground-breaking changes with fresh ideas. It is an
essential part of our work to recognize these, observe them, and create a
platform for them to communicate.

If a brand wanted to work with you, which activities would you be most interested in collaborating on?

Netzpalaver offers omnichannel communication for market participants who
contribute substantially to the development of technologies and their use.
The strength of Netzpalaver lies in a multi-media concept that is able to
get the message to the relevant target group using the appropriate means.
One example is videocasting, short and crisp interviews on a specific topic.
As a result of this and enriched with the technical know-how of our
associates, the 101 series was created: E-books and printed books that can
be used for customer acquisition and retention, and also for SEO
optimization and backlinks via Amazon and others. For this purpose,
Netzpalaver produces 101 2-minute videos with questions and answers on the
specific topic, which are played out several times via all-important social
channels over 6 months. An ideal format for vendors who want to continuously
expand their follower base in a short period of time.

What are your passions outside of work?

My passion is to move things forward – However, the weekend belongs to the
family – mostly…

What would be the best way for a brand to contact you?
